Nathalie Guichard presented the paper co-written with Amélie Clauzel and Caroline Riché, entitled: “It’s too bad! Be Waste! Ready to stop?” What adolescents think about food wasting” at the 33rd Congress of the French Marketing Association (AFM), Tours, May 16-19.
Abstract: In a context of increasing public awareness of environmental issues, this research focuses on food wastage of teenagers when they have lunch in a school canteen. Interviews were conducted with 27 adolescents between of 11 and 15 years old. A manual and software analysis reveals the sensitivity of this population to food waste and their perceptions of the volume and causes of their own wastage during meals taken in school canteens. These are opposed to more responsible behavior at home because of parental norms.
