Colin Davis, Doshisha University, is visiting the RITM from 8 July 2016 to 31 March 2017. Here is Colin’s research web page.
After graduating from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Canada with a Bachelor of Commerce, I moved to Sapporo, Japan, where I completed a Master of Economics and a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics at Hokkaido University. I am now working as a Professor of Economics at the Institute for Liberal Arts of Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan. My current research project involves the integration of the fully endogenous growth framework with theories of international trade and economic geography. The aim of the project is to improve our understanding of how the geographic organization of industry affects an economy’s prospects for development through productivity growth. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to visit and work on research at the RITM laboratory (Université Paris-Sud).
