Interdisciplinary Workshop against LGBT+phobias
Clotilde Coron and Léa Dorion co-organize a research day against LGBT+ phobias on May 17, 2024, at the Faculty of Law-Economics-Management, Room Georges Vedel, Building G, from 9 AM to 6 PM.
This workshop is part of the International Day against LGBT phobia (lesbophobia, gayphobia, biphobia, transphobia), which takes place every year on May 17, a symbolic date chosen because of the removal of homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses by the WHO on May 17, 1990 (this did not happen until 2019 for transidentity). This workshop will bring together researchers in social sciences working on sexual orientation and/or gender identity and LGBT+ populations.
The program is multi-disciplinary and spans various social sciences: Law, Economics, Management, Sociology, and Political Science. Some RITM faculty members will participate in this event:
- Clotilde Coron will present her research on “Sexual orientation and the pay gap: An intersectional analysis of partnered individuals”;
- Léa Dorion will present her research “Becoming-lesbian by organizing – (auto)ethnography of a feminist association”;
- Jean-Noël Senne will present his article “Sexuality-based stigma and access to care: intersecting perspectives between healthcare providers and men who have sex with men in HIV care centres in Senegal“, and project his documentary film “Nio Far”.
Interdisciplinary Workshop “Better information to transform food behavior.”
To close the TRANSCALE research project on “Better information to transform food behavior,” which was awarded the MSH Paris-Saclay label in 2022, Lydiane Nabec and Stephan Marette co-organize an interdisciplinary workshop on the challenges and limits of environmental labeling.
This workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the AgroParis-Saclay campus, from 9 AM to 2 PM.
The program will span Economics, Management, and Public Health and tackle the following questions that are crucial for policymakers:
- How can we guide consumers toward more environmentally friendly food choices?
- How can we inform consumers about food products’ environmental impact and nutritional quality?
- How can standardized nutrition labeling be deployed at the European level to meet public health challenges?
- Are nutritional warnings more or less effective than Nutri-Scores?
- What trade-offs do consumers face between their health and the environment?
