The annual statistical report of the Secours Catholique – Caritas France on poverty in France was released on November 7th. This 2019 edition was co-written by Jean-Noël Senne, with the research assistance of Claire Caumel (undergraduate intern from the Bachelor in Applied Economics). Using large sample data collected all over the country, this year’s report raises the alarm about an increase in extreme poverty and the growing precariousness of migrants in the country. It draws attention to the need for everyone to have access to fundamental rights and takes an international view of the situation of migrant populations around the world.
