Professor Tsutomu  Miyagawa,  from the Gakushuin  University (Tokyo), participated in the J-Curve project workshop held at RITM on the 28th of November 2023. The J-Curve project is a cooperative effort between the European chair on intangibles (RITM – Université Paris-Saclay) and the Gakushuin University (Department of Economics & Management – Tokyo). It is led by two RITM faculty members, Professor Ahmed Bounfour and Dr. Alberto Nonnis.

The workshop discussed the preliminary results of the project, which aims to revise estimates of total factor productivity, considering the impact of intangible capital investment and using firms’ data. During the workshop, the joint team presented provisional results, providing interesting patterns for a group of countries, including Japan, France, Germany, the UK, and the US. This collaboration has significantly contributed to our ongoing efforts to enhance our understanding of productivity dynamics and will continue in the coming months.
