Ahmed Bounfour and Alberto Nonnis participated in the France and Japan joint workshop on productivity, intangibles, and artificial intelligence held at Gakushuin University in Tokyo (Japan) on the 5th of March 2024 as part of a joint project supported by grants-in-aid for scientific research from the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology.

The workshop involved the participation of members of the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan, the Japan Productivity Center, and several scholars from Japanese universities. During the workshop, the two groups presented their parallel work on the measurement of total factor productivity measures corrected for intangible investment in a number of OECD countries, including France, Japan, Germany, Italy, the UK, the US, and South Korea. Additionally, the French team presented preliminary results from the ‘AI Competences 2035’, a project aimed at evaluating the future impact of AI skills and competencies on the job market.
